Problems with O2?

Post by randomv »

Hi
Does anyone else have problems with O2 mobiles? People calling me at home have complained about a loud buzzing noise in the middle of a call, and I've had the same problem when calling my boyfriend on one of his phones - they're both on the O2 network.
He also has a phone on Orange and has no problems, although the reception is a bit dodgy.
Am trying to find a contact info at O2 to advise of this but was just wondering if this is a known problem?
Cheers

Am I right in thinking that the reception at the top of Sydenham hill is bad? I say that becuase on my Virgin mobile, the signal cuts out just as I go over the crest of the hill onto Kirkdale.

I'm in the Lawrie Park area so I don't know about Sydenham Hill.
I rang O2 and they confirmed that the area for my postcode (not sure how big an area that means) IS a known blackspot but that there are a couple of new masts going up in the next two months which should improve it. Of course the website says the coverage is great..
The other mobile in our house is Orange and whilst it doesn't have the deafening buzz randomly butting into calls, the reception isn't great.

Sydenham is full of nulls when it comes to mobile phones. All the companies have been promising to sort the problems out for decades....

I rather fancy the problems have more to do with the 400 MegaWatt transmitter at the top of the hill.... although I would not rule out incompetence on the part of the phone companies.

The Dulwich Wood House is a mobile phone blackspot. The perfect place to go for a beer if you dont want to be contacted.

that is strange fishcox,my parents told me that for a long time that particular pub had a reputation for being the place where couples who were *whispers married to other people went for 'dates',so being out of mobile range would work well for that sort of thing eh!

they said that if you wanted to know who was 'seeing' who you went there and had a peek!

anyone over the age of 50 wish to confirm?
