Three local trade-based gripes.

1) Sommerfields' mngr advised me earlier this year that they would, or would consider (don't recall which) replace the community notice board somewhere in their newly revamped store. Well....? They couldnt give a stuff about us. Anybody here interested?

2) That bloke who runs the Health Food store Wellbeing gets no trade from me anymore. I managed to get in just before he shut to quickly buy a £20 item. He has a customer with him who's just completed her purchase and is chatting with him when he calls out "I was just about to shut", to me! So why then did he not say to his customer "Please excuse me whilst I just quickly lock the door as I need to leave on the dot tonight" and do just that before serving her??
I've been a customer of his for some time now and have spent £24 quid in a single transaction before now. Saves me a trip to Lewisham. What a way to treat your customer base. He can starve for all I care, although he wont at the prices he charges.

3) I use the Butchers down by the tatoo place oppositte the library because they're a British butcher and I'm not buying halaal!! Fantastic - in London - a British butcher! What odd fellows they are. The one with the 'tash wont even look at you if the older ones serving, let alone say hello. Dont they want customers then? Every week I shop with them.

I adore the bakers. To be able to buy fresh non-factory produced bread from a bakers these days is fab (I know theres Ayres in Nunhead). Lovely bread but some of the young kids there need a strong coffie prior to starting work I think. Esp the short girl, Christ!

Ok then 4 gripes.

And what is it with library staff- why always so odd, whichever one you go to. Young guy @ Sydenham library (short haired one) is fine.

*) Also, there's a guy called David who works in Sommerfields on the tills. Smashing guy he is. You couldnt ask for better when you shop. I wish him the best.

Have you tried giving some constructive feedback to the business owners concerned? Speaking to the people directly able to influence the situation will likely be more effective than posting on a forum which they may not frequent.

Regarding (3), that butcher closed down a couple of weeks ago.
