Hi
I'm looking at a property here and wondered if anyone could advise me on the flats / houses and also the local area.
Does anyone live here or nearby ?
Is it a quiet or noisy neighbourhood ? Trouble free or young troublemakers around ??
Thanks in advance

Hi - I have lived in LPG for over 20 years (the lower section between LPA & LPR).
A very pleasant environment - the wide & quiet road mean the main hazard are learners practising their 3 point turns. At the Westwood Hill/Sydenham Girls School end there is the recent and additional hazard of anti-social mothers who think their 4x4s entitle them to both over-pollute, ignore the law, put others in danger and abuse anyone who questions that right (however politely). That is only 9am & 4pm and is really another rant.
LPG is a good place to be. Excellent value. CP Park is a short walk. TV reception is - er excellent, as long as you *don't* use a good aerial. Sydenham station gets you to London Bridge in 17 minutes. In 2010 the tube arrives at the station too. And don't forget the 176 bus that goes along LPR to Oxford Circus. Only 80p *and* 24/7 - ideal for getting back from late night parties, Theatreland and the South Bank.
I feel safe walking around at any hour but I'm not exactly a young attractive lady. I don't think you will find anywhere significantly safer in Inner London.
The weather is sunnier in Sydenham! Seriously I used to live the other side of the Crystal Palace Hill. When it rains there - it doesn't necessarily rain in Sydenham - we benefit in being in the lee of the hill for the prevailing westerlies.
Finally the views from highpoints in the area are often jaw dropping - looking to central London or Kent in the morning or evening. It helps to escape from the claustophobia you find in other parts of London.
Which block are you considering?

I bought a house in the same area last year and I am very pleased with my decision. The area has some lovely parks (wells park and crystal palace) nearby as well as being close to the shops and the station.
I use these roads on a daily basis and have never felt unsafe. The LPG road is used very frequently by driving schools to teach maneuvours though.
