When I hear the foxes 'talking', I always wonder whether they are happy and what all their noises actually mean...

Some of it is calling to their young,but the screams appear to be part of the mating season.

Must be the woman, she doesnt sound that happy! :wink:

Yes, the pair call/scream to locate eachother.

But on the contrary, it is the poor male fox that screams after copulation: the female "locks-on" and doesn't let him go running off as soon as he's finished... :shock:
