The late Hubert Gregg, who produced a programme for the BBC, called “Thanks for the memory” for several years. (Also well known as a song writer and film star) often told of his childhood in Sydenham, where he attended St. Michaels School and sang in the church choir. He also told of how he was very friendly with the late Comedian, Norman Long, who lived in Queensthorpe Road...
He was born, I understand, in Islington in 1914. He was my senior by six years. I can remember several of the incidents that he told in his programs
Does anyone out there have any information of his days as resident, where he lived etc.?
I should be most interested to know.
