Hi
I wonder if anyone can help? I recently found out that my great grandaunt died in a V1 attack on Penge during WW2. The date was 11 July 1944 and she lived at 5 Seymour Villas. Unfortunately she was killed.
Does anyone have any pictures of Seymour Villas as it was prior to the bomb damage? Are there any newspaper articles I could view online or is it mentioned anywhere? As I now live in Devon, it is hard for me to get to Bromley Library, where I am sure there would be ample information.
Any info greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Emma

I don't have any photos. However, you might be interested in this website setting out the impact of the rocket attacks on south-east London, especially this page on Penge:

There might be a memorial in one of the local churches or cemetaries: not sure how you would find them though.
At the time, news of attacks was suppressed, so it would be unlikely for there to be news articles about that attack.
Does anyone else have anything more to add?

If you go here http://www.beckenhamhistory.co.uk/flash ... lery2.html and then look at image 32 you will see the houses through the trees. That is the best I can do for now.
