Thomas, we are easy to spot. I think it was Savvy who said to her partner as they walked to the pub last time "watch out for that bloke, he looks like trouble". ...yes, that was me BEFORE I'd had a drink.
I have ten confirmed attendances (not including other halfs) by posting and PMs so far. This could be a popular evening if other people show up 'on the spur of the moment'.
OK, we have quite a few people turning up, I hope that non-posters, voyeurs and occasional posters also turn up.
I feel lilke a right muppet. Yesterday I fell over walking down Dartmouth Road. Because i was carrying two bags of shopping, I couldn't put my arms out to lessen the impact with the pavement, and i fell over like a tree being felled. (A nice lady stopped to ask if i was OK, but i think the embarassment was the worst aspect).
I think i have bruised/broken a rib or two as i am in a lot of pain. Alcohol seems like an appropriate pain killer and i have a good excuse for non-participation in Bensonby's naked twister
Hope as many as poss can make it....and watch out for those uneven pavements.
A newbie will recognise me because I will have a pink FT (as per earlier post). Failing that, just look for a bunch of geeky nerds playing naked twister!
STF'ers will be the people looking furtively round the bar. There are a couple of us who know each other, but we just seem to manage to congregate with other posters.
Out of previous postings, you could summise that Bensonby will be in his pants, spread across the floor.
I have 2 weeks growth of facial hair and wear predominatly black clothes, though i will try and muster a shirt for tonight. I will be there at 7pm, or maybe a tad earlier. What remains of my head of hair, is short cropped and greying. (i'm married).
7pm and for those who need reminding what the Woodman looks like. A Pink Thomas on the table, a White Bensonby on the floor, Barty on a stretcher may make us blend in too much with average Kirkdaler.
So look for a bemused Admin ogling the landlady. Its usually a jolly occasion and a very mixed bunch of guys & gals. If you haven't been before you are doubly welcome.
Ali B, that was me who thought you looked like a dangerous mad man. After talking to you I can safely say I was incorrect. Savvy is still keeping a low profile after her last appearance at the STF drinkup. We have people visiting tonight so won't be able to make it unfortunately but I'll try and persuade her to get along to any drinkups in 2009.

Seriously was nice to meet a good few of you We must organise another night when Barty does not turn into a pumpkin at 2130 cos he has to get up and go be the Fat Controller at work at 0645 the morning after.
Anyone else up and about at silly o'clock in the morning and going somewhere on the train, don't forget to wave at the cctv cameras at Sydenham station
