Sewing machine repair

Post by Janeco »

Some years ago I used a shop in Welling to service my machine and they did a good job but I cannot find it on Yell.com so guess it's gone. Should now be a growth industry judging by the number of requests for sewing machines on Freecycle. Nearest I can find to Sydenham is this:
http://www.worldofsewing.co.uk/ in Bromley but can't vouch for it in any way.

Thanks for that - I'll give them a try. That or throw my sewing machine out of the window in frustration.

Hi. A bit late, but you could try http://www.sewingmachinesuk.co.uk/home.php

Sewing Machine Specialists - on Deptford High Street when I last went. Whether repair cost is worth it these days even assuming the part is repairable or replaceable is something else of course.

Closer to Sydenham, there's hobbies-plus.co.uk on Perry Hill (opposite the end of Woolstone Road more or less) who might be able to get spare parts for some machines, so might be worth a try, though again, many items aren't meant to be replaced, so will depend what's gone wrong on which machine I guess.
