Improved Sydenham Hill train services
I often get the 8:29 and I very nearly always get a seat. Getting on the Victoria line at Brixton is easier than getting on at Victoria (though quicker to travel from Brixton to Victoria by train than tube) and at about 8:45 you actually can't gain access to the tube at Victoria because of overcrowding.
I notice that the Blackfriars service now continues through central London to Luton. I think there are four services northbound and two southbound, plus many more services stopping at Herne Hill (with easy interchange and good connections to Sydenham Hill) so this is a simple way to get to St Pancras and Luton Airport.
Services from Sydenham Hill (which also serve Penge East) are being revised, with a new timetable from 13 December - Southeastern are promising 12 morning peak trains, compared with the current 8.

Similarly, they are promising an extra 5 morning peak trains from Lower Sydenham:

So, good news for existing users of these services, and something to consider for commuters using Sydenham station looking for a suitable alternative?
