Major rail engineering work Penge East - Sydenham Hill this summer

Network Rail have announced major engineering work - track renewal - in the Penge Tunnel area this summer:

Basically, removing and replacing the old track and ballast from 23rd July - 1st August, followed by follow-up works and tamping until 23rd September.

Closure period now confirmed as 23rd to 31st July. Let's hope there will be a full Southern service from Sydenham again by then as some form of compensation.
