We have been staying in Venner Rd for alomost 6yrs now and got to know our postman who was very friendly, always greeted most imp we always got OUR OWN post and post would be delivered by the very latest 11am, but sadly, for us, the residents of Venner rd he went on retirement. We now have a new postman and we/quite a few of our neighbours have on NUMEROUS occassions received the incorrect post and on most days only receive it after 12pm - after a week of having had a neighbours post thrown through my door, I approached the postman and he told me to just 'repost' it - not meaning to sound like i'm having a total rant, but is that not his job???? - why should I have to walk 100m down the road to the postbox to repost somebody elses post (no prob if it happens once in a blue moon) but most importantly if i/a number of my neighbours are receiveng one anothers post, other people may be getting our post - what if it's something of urgence!!!
Was wondering if anyone else is/has experienced this, I understand it takes a while to learn the 'route' but surely it's not that difficult to get the hang of? Who can we complain to if things don't improve???

Its not the postmans fault his late. He doesnt want to stay out to all hours. Sydenham posties have changed to a system where they have to work 6 til 4. Which beens there rounds are twice as long, and have no choice on what time they reach your house.
As for recieving the wrong mail on Venner road, its very easy to make a mistake when you have to sort up so many letters. Im sure your new postman will get the hang off it soon.

Well, over the last few weeks we've started receiving mail for random properties - they're all in my street, but are up to 20 numbers away, for the nearby pub... etc etc etc... it's really does seem as though our postie just dumps any old letters with us. It might be easy to make the occasional mistake, but not to this degree.....
Well that does sound rather strange, id understand if he put the same door number in, but a different road, but not different numbers.
The trouble aswel is when a postman is sick or on holiday and they cant get the round covered. There send anyone in from another office called a "casaul", and they usally dont have a clue where they are going or what there doing.

Exactly. It's happened so many times that it strikes me as laziness, ie the postie just can't be bothered to even try to get it right so just dumps mail anywhere! Hopefully it is just a case of a casual covering while our usual guy is on holiday (and hopefully nothing important of mine has ended up elsewhere)...
