Post by mangiamangia »

Hi there,
This is Antonio from Capo Caccia Fine Food
I'd like to inform you that we're still operating with our online shop at www.capocaccia.co.uk and we are offering local deliveries in East Dulwich, Forest Hill, Brockley, Sydenham and New Cross area.
We'll be at Crystal Palace Food Market this Saturday and we don't know what's happening the following week yet.
We hope to get through this period all together and see and hug each other soon.
Take care and keep safe

And a big shout and thanks from us to the lovely lady who delivered this morning. It would be great if initiatives like this metamorphised when it's over into community groups to supersede those that died or are dying. Something good should come out of this.

Hello, I tried to place an order. My addition seems different than the website. I tired to order £60 worth of products. At check out it came up as £165. Then said certain items were out of stock.

I presume you are refering to the OP. Sydenham Mutual Aid used phone/email which worked very well. I was mortified that the wonderful lady carried it all by hand. Best not to over order!

Here is a list of local suppliers who are offering a delivery services - I'm sure it will change regularly and there will always be firms not on it who are offering deliveries.

The list doesn’t include takeaways which it says are pretty much operating as normal. We struggled to get a takeaway delivery last Friday using any of the usual apps - JustEat, Deliveroo, Uber Eats. Very few restaurants were showing up, and when they did, we found they’d stopped delivering by the time we’d put together our order. With few having their own websites, it’s hard to know if they are in fact open but not active on the apps because there’s a shortage of drivers. We’d love to support our local takeaways at this time but finding it hard.

This list of deliverers in London was in the Evening Standard recently:
https://www.standard.co.uk/go/london/re ... 04956.html

I can't say if they'll all be run off their feet now.
