I've got various packets of plant seeds I can donate. Plus I can start doing cuttings and I'll look to see if there's anything in the garden I can divide.

I've only a tiny postage stamp of a garden, but it is pretty full!

Thanks to a kind gentlemen in Sydenham we already have £100 pounds towards this project.

I will be arranging a meeting for all interested parties next week at The Dolphin. More details tomorrow.

Hi, count me in!!!!!!

I have seen this on telly and it sounds great, Sydenham is in need of some TLC.

Lavender is a must, as is evergreen flowering shrubs with seeds/bedding plants planted inbetween.

Just one small question, what time of night do you propose to do this?

Looking forward to it

I'm 5000% behind the idea.

But could someone give me a clue as to why people on this thread are talking about doing this "at night".

People rooting around in bushes, at the dead of night in Sydenham Approach, one of them with large cine camera, may give passers-by entirely the wrong idea! Could these people be up to some of those things you only hear about on late night TV they may ask!

"I was only putting in some bedding plants officer," isn't the line that I would want to use in these circumstances.

(And just in case people get the wrong idea - I only came upon that Channel 4 programme Sex in the Naughty Noughties by pure mistake. I was in fact looking for the late night arts channel hoping to catch up on some news from the Edinburgh Festival)

Can someone run me quickly through the theory and practice of guerrilla gardening please? Why can't you just plant out flowers at 3pm on Sunday afternoon like everyone else does?

Officially guerrilla gardening is against the law and hence why it is done at night when the streets are empty and it's all done quietly and quickly - then a suprise for the community in the morning.

Is anyone free on Monday at 8pm to meet in The Dolphin to discuss our plans and see who is interested rather than just talking about it?

I can't 100% commit at this stage, but Mondays are generally cool for me. Would prefer the Woodman, but that's being selfish

In order to support all local pubs I was thinking of holding the meetings/get-together in each pub therefore everyone gets a share of our drinks money rather than just one pub. I thought start at the bottom and work our way up, then down, then back up again. lol

Monday night 8pm at the Dolphin is fine for me. I'll bring a bit of lavender from my garden so people will find our table otherwise we might be in the embarrassing situation of having to ask everyone who comes into the Dolphin if they are guerrilla gardeners as I'm assuming we won't necessily be able to distinguish them from other Sydenham citizens.

I'm thinking we all dress up in camouflage clothing and face paint and commando roll into the pub.....
