Local Social - fixed for Wednesday 25 September 7pm, Dolphin

Hi all

We talked about trying to do a local social, perhaps in The Dolphin, a little while back on a thread involving a new member moving to Sydenham. Now I've seen another forum organising their SECOND meet up in Forest Hill while we've procrastinated (me more than anyone else)!

How do people feel about trying to get a date in for late August/early September? I'm happy to do some organising if there's enough interest. I proposed The Dolphin before because of the big garden outside.

I reckon a thirsty Thursday would be good to set us up well for the weekend.

I can't actually do either of those, on account of not being in London those days - or for most of those weeks, due to work/holiday. But if the majority can make it, go ahead! Someone has to pick a date sooner or later, and it will never suit everyone

Sorry all, life has been hectic and continues to be so I haven't done anything about this yet and not sure I'll have time to organise for the dates suggested earlier!

I've been into the Dolphin on Sydenham Road and they're fine for us to come in on Wednesday 25 September - may I suggest from 7pm?

I know there are other pubs in Sydenham and hopefully we'll get to do a social tour of them over the next few months but thought it would be nice to move away from the obvious places like the Woodman and the Greyhound etc for a bit of a change.

The Rugby World Cup is on but England are playing the day after so it should be a good day to pick.

Hopefully see some Sydenhamites there.

Just wanting to get an idea on who is planning on coming to The Dolphin tonight - I know Sydering is planning to be there but would be good to know if anyone else is. It will help manage my lofty expectations of a full pub.
