I have a print of the large scale Ordnance Survey map of the mid 1860s and notice that the individual field plots are numbered and would like to know if there is an index to these numbers and what information any index shows for each plot.

Re: Maps
Indexes exist - you'd need to get yourself to the British Library or somewhere else which has them. It's been a while since I saw one and I can't remember what information they give, other than the designation of the land (ie agricultural/industrial etc).
Re: Maps
If you're interested in maps go to this site:
https://www.dulwichsociety.com/dulwich-estate-maps
There are 7 maps between 1852 and 1932 which are downloadable and show quite a lot of detail when magnified.
If anyone can direct me to later maps on the internet I'd be grateful for the web address.
Thanks

Re: Maps
You can get OS maps from the 1950s here: https://maps.nls.uk - search by place, select that you want England and Wales Maps and the size/date. Later OS maps tend not to be online for free as they're all Crown Copyright, and they will actually do something about it if you put more than a photo of the maps up without permission! If you want to see more recent ones, then Lewisham Archives will have them.
Re: Maps
Best resource I know for Old Maps, it's free to use, for increased zoom you have to subscribe (pay) but the free version is very good still:
