We have the News Shopper (Lewisham, Greenwich & Bromley edition) delivered, although not much applies to Sydenham - mainly Eltham, Catford, etc. Even the free property supplement inside doesn't feature Sydenham properties! In fact I only read it to find out Lewisham Planning applications....

I occassionally buy the South London Press, (although I can't stand the quality of the editorial, DTP, photo editing, etc.) only because it's the only place to find out what's going on locally. It's depressing - full of stabbings and drug crimes, etc. and it covers Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark, Wandsworth. It's out on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The free Lewisham Mercury is delivered to parts of Forest Hill, but not Sydenham. I don't know why.

Thanks :) I obviously have no eyes or I would have seen it right on the top of the screen, only now did as you pointed it out.

The South London Press has gone even further down in my estimation following an article in last week's paper about my place of work which had virtually no truth to it whatsoever. Scandalmongering to sell papers. It's basically a tabloid pretending not to be.

The last edition I bought (2 weeks ago) had an inset photo box and somebody in the artwork department had "dropped" an image of something irrelevent! It looked like a detail of somebody's hand and a bit of a chair rotated 90 degrees. It's probably work experience season.....

Not a newspaper, but there's Families South East magazine for families living in southeast London (there's a clue in the name), and online at www.familiesse.co.uk.
Lots of useful local information rather than gritty news from the courtrooms.
Fre copies from the library, Kirkdale Bookshop, LA Fitness, Bridge Leisure Centre, the Pharmacy near Somerfield.
