Penge attempted robbery

Events caught on a mobile phone in Penge last night, thugs attempted to pull a man from his moped and steal it, the brave intervention of a few passers-by prevented it. I can't see why the number plate of the offenders motorbike should be obscured, someone mentions it starts "GX64".

Fair play to those people that stepped in . That poor bloke could easily have been knocked under a car by those thugs , hope he's now all ok

Incase the initial bike was stolen. If it goes back to the owner, people might accuse that owner of the thefts and face retribution

And another one filmed in Lewisham a couple of weeks ago. Somebody will ram these idiots right off their bikes and into a neighboring borough some day. Do we assume that the bikes weren't stolen as the registration numbers were clearly visible in this case?

Don't know but one of the Penge muggers has been arrested and is in Police custody.

The Ladywell Porsche incident is in tonight's' Evening Standard, as part of an article about a street fight in Harrow. Seems the whole of London is affected in various ways.

Crossing the traffic lights outside Sydenham station at c. 2:30 pm today a moped drove all over the pavement and chaotically through traffic and then down Silverdale. Next time I will try harder to note the number plates

My girlfriend and I popped into the KFC in Penge the other day.

Moments before we arrived there was an attempted robbery. Police came in and were talking to the staff (some of whom were visibly shaken). They described two men, one with a knife, attempting to get money from the till. Apparently one of the staff fended off one of the men (I heard she threw oil at him but I may be wrong about that) and then they scarpered.

Seems like its happening a lot in Penge recently.

Maybe I've been lucky, but I've never had any probs in dear old Penge.
