Girl with Leukaemia inspires Charity Art Auction
A Forest Hill girl has inspired a charity art auction at The Dolphin in Sydenham in partnership with ArtDog. Hosted by actor and auctioneer extraordinaire, Hamish Clark, best known as Duncan from Monarch of the Glen, it is hoped that much money will be raised in the sale of art donated by local artists.
Francesca Corp, 4 ½, was diagnosed a year ago with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. She is being cared for by Great Ormond Street and Lewisham hospitals and receives ongoing chemotherapy to treat the condition. The money raised will be given to ‘CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA’ a charity dedicated exclusively to fighting Britain’s biggest childhood cancer. Francesca’s mum says “It is only through people’s donations and kindness that we can save the lives of many children. Research is vital in this fight. Francesca finds the treatment very hard going and has experienced many low points over the past year but ultimately we are just glad that she is responding and because of all the research over the last 40 years she has a good prognosis.”
Tickets are priced at £25 per person. This includes a 3 course meal plus glass of wine on arrival at the Dolphin, followed by the auction.
