Leather Satchel with contents found

Whilst walking to Sydenham station this morning 28th Nov ( Via Peak hill ), I came across a brown leather Satchel with the majority of its contents spread all over the nearby ground. I scooped it up and dropped it back home as had to dash to work.
I've now looked at the contents, and it appears to be owned by someone in the medical profession, as it included various books / documents of this manner.
There was no shoulder strap attached although there were ringlets for this.
I don't know if someone has accidently left this outside by their car, or whether this was as a result of some kind of incident but either way I would like to get it safely back to its rightful owner.

Happy to report I have tracked down the owner to return his bag, who sadly has his car broken into on Sunday night.
