Re: evening activities
Hallo Jayde - sorry for your loss.
A mere two stops away by train (Honor Oak Park) or 15 minutes on the 122 bus is the well-respected Jack Studio Theatre in Brockley. It's a fantastic venue and perfect for a nighttime jaunt. The current production is Anna Karenina and they also host writing workshops and various other events.
I hope your evenings are soon pleasantly full!
Cheers,

Hi Jade, welcome to Sydenham!
I echo Hissing Sid re Brockley Jack Studio - fantastic little theatre!
As a suggestion - join the Sydenham Society for a small annual sub. For this you get a quarterly Newsletter delivered free through your door if you live in SE26 and most parts of SE23 keeping you informed of what is happening around our area. As a member you also get a regular fortnightly enewsletter advertising events happening around the area sydenhamsociety.com

Re: evening activities
Lewisham council publish their events magazine "Lewisham Life" quarterly which would be worth a look.

I can't seem to find an online version although there might be one I suppose. We get the mag through our letter box, although it says there should be a copy in libraries.
Pubs which hold quiz nights might be an option.
Does anyone know which reasonably local pubs hold these at the moment?

Hi Jayde,
So sorry for your loss.
Welcome to Sydenham.
There's a great pub quiz at The Woodhouse pub near Sydenham Hill.
It's Wednesdays at 8pm. We're a friendly bunch.

Re: evening activities
Hi
I highly recommend the choir on Monday evenings at 7pm at St Christopher's Hospice. It's a great social and supportive experience and you don't have to be experienced at singing. It's open to complete beginners and great fun! If you don't feel comfortable singing you can always go and watch first. There is a cafe there so you can have something to eat beforehand if you prefer. They serve hot food and desserts and it's generally a nice place to hang out.
There are also other activities on different evenings.
Have fun
