If I win the lottery this weekend, I'll buy it.Bovine Juice wrote:http://propertylink.estatesgazette.com/ ... ondon-se26
I've been a pub licensee before and I loved it as a job. Sadly it was for a brewery so long hours, small salary (albeit live-in) and as it was live in, I never felt like my spare time (what little there was) was really spare time, I was always at work so to speak.
But promise is made, if I win the lottery, I will buy the windmill.
Signed in blood.

I wonder how much it cost J D W to build in the 90's ???
Also what they sold for.
Could be the current owners are pricing too high for potential Pub Owners on purpose, oh but could people be that devious.

I'd be amazed if Antic don't move into it or the Greyhound.

Nice to see that it's currently an "asset of community value", which makes it harder for it to be used as something other than what it was before.
I was initially thinking that it was rather overpriced – it is hard enough to turn a profit from a pub these days, let alone a pub that cost you 1.2 million+refurb costs. But then again, if you can get two flats above it then you could sell those off. Plus the layout of the downstairs is such that you could probably have a smaller pub and a separate retail unit. Dunno. Be very interesting to see what happens.

£1.2m is a lot of money but investors see mixed commercial and residential as a good investment in London, especially with a fair sized footprint like that.

if I won more than £2m on the lotto I'd buy it.

Also for sale for £1.2 million and not too far away - a house on Wells Park Road - 11 bedrooms (really???) so would suit a small family with live-in help:

Ref: House on Wells Park road. What a waste of an opportunity. Who would design and build such a monstrosity void of soul and lacking in features and detail? Yuk!!
