Jim Dowd - finally a rebel (with or without cause)

So it seems our MP has finally rebelled and voted against the party leadership in last night's vote on bombing Syria. Jim's was one of 66 names I saw in an early list - please correct me if I am wrong.

So, despite much evidence to the contrary, there is a rebellious heart beating. Maybe he can now be encouraged to fight more directly and obviously for the good constituents of his Sydenham constituency.

Let's see what 2016 brings.

I think what was meant was the he may have voted for bombing but he voted against the party leadership?

I originally posted because previous subjects on this forum that strayed onto the subject of our MP often focussed on him always following the party line. Perhaps for a quiet life - following orders, I don't know. It was a nice surprise to find Jim had made a decision and voted for the Government, against his leader's wishes (though it was a free vote). Maybe this is the start of a new phase in his stewardship of the Sydenham seat - taking on causes not necessarily aligned with his party, but having local significance and importance.

Many in Shadow Cabinet voted against the Leader.

From this neutral's perspective Jeremy Corbyn's career and public manner seems entirely admirable.

Jeremy Corbyn does not present as a natural leader. However he is clearly a genuinely committed and principled man and I admire his complete refusal to engage in all the rubbish!! Cameron's dig about being a terrorist sympathiser was so inappropriate ....but JC wisely has given no response, no demanding apologies or posturing !! He's just getting on with the job in his own particular way, and sticking to his stated wish for a different sort of political debate and practice.

I'm not entirely sure that JD would be open to any learning!!!
