You may have noticed that Lewisham http://www.lewisham.gov.uk have redesigned their website.
Sadly not only does it no longer work if you are using the 'wrong type of browser' but huge chunks of useful information has been deleted. Including our dear Mayor's "Vision"
Left with broken inward links and no longer links from Lewisham to the community - we (local webmasters) have reactivated a dormant project to network local community sites and improve links with the council.
It only started on Sunday so its still early days but if you go beyond the frontpage you may find some useful connections. If you don't - tell us what you want. Its here:

Oh come on!
When visiting the Communities site on the Lewishamonline site can I start by enquiring why Silverdale is listed as Riverdale?
Where are Kirk's Cameras, Treasure Chest, Batchelors, Richards, the Fish Shop, Nickells Blinds, Panini, Hempire, Ryas Barbers, Rinbow, Baby (something or other) etc etc? What is this place called SAFEWAYS???? Some left the area long ago.
Ring o'Roses, Hilltop Cafe, Acorn have had makeovers at least a year ago.
If someone is running a Lewishamonline site and including Sydenham at least do it properly or not at all - and I haven't even looked around the Forest hHill part of the site yet.............................

Pat,
Yep it does provide an opportunity to discover & visit websites like Virtual Sydenham. That has some value as a snapshot of Sydenham of 3 years ago as seen from South Norwood
Why aren't you taking up the issue with the VS webmaster? He is very nice and called James.
Lewisham Online is specifically for listings of non-commercial community websites. So no Kirk's Cameras but there is a Sydenham Society. Mind you if you hike the subs I shall have to reconsider

This topic has taken a sad turn - see:

If there is need of further comment it is probably best done there. Hence I am locking this thread.
