Edgehill is marked on this 1914 OS map, with an "X" on it (please excuse the other markings; they are my notes):

Lady Roberts (but not her husband) is in the 1881 census as ""Wife of Maj General Sir Frederick Roberts now on service. Known as Lady Roberts". It is probable that he did spend a short time at Edgehill as The Times (19/2/1881) reported that he attended a presentation with his wife at Sydenham Public Lecture Hall on 17 Feb 1881. Sometime during March he was sent to South Africa.
