Just been in Wells Park and lovely new mobile café near the warden's building. Great cup of tea.
Drinks and snacks currently but planning greater range of food / drink / ice creams as they get established. Well worth a visit.
Cafe in Wells Park - Fab addition to lovely park
Re: Cafe in Wells Park - Fab addition to lovely park
This is excellent news and has been something Well's Park has needed for a while. We've been heading down to Mayow Park instead as the cafe there is useful (although in my opinion a bit too pricey).

Is this the same people who do the pop up French restaurant that brilliantly only sits 4 covers? (It may be 8, not sure).

No - it is not the group who have the small blue French van seating four people.
A completely different organisation. This new addition uses, coincidentally, another French van but this one is sited next to the rangers hut. One benefit is that toilets are now open more than was previously possible.
What is it about French vans and the attractiveness to them of Wells Park? But that's a separate discussion.

What I understand is that the cafe is required to open the toilets so there is an inter-relationship, and perhaps all the more reason to support the cafe.
Oh, and had a very good chocolate brownie there last week with a cuppa!

We intend to try it out soon. I must agree and re-emphasis what a beautiful park it is too. We are so lucky in Sydenham to have some really lovely green spaces and hats off to the Lewisham Parks Department for keeping them looking so good during what must be straightened times with the cuts, etc. Long may it continue..
