Attempted burglaries off Lawrie Park Gardens

There have been a number of attempted burglaries recently (in the past 10 days) in the local area off, Lawrie Park Gardens. The latest was today and, fortunately, the owner was in and confronted a couple (a black man and a white woman with reddish/pink hair) trying the handle of a side door. When confronted they said they were lost... As if!

Be vigilante out there everyone and ensure you have sufficient security and outdoor lighting.

And not just attempted. Someone in Border Road ( which backs onto Lawrie park gardens ) was actually burgled in the last few days - they got in through back garden.

There has also been a burglary off Lawrie Park Gardens - it was a female who entered through the back door. I believe there was another in the Lawrie Park triangle near to Border Rd (a total of three in this area). Lewisham Police are aware of these incidents.

18 mths ago, I too was burgled (my fault, as I had left a 1st floor window open (Lawrie Park triangle)). I noticed a few weeks before, a car had parked in our communal car park, and I saw 2 people eating fried chicken, as they looked up at me in my kitchen. The twits then discarded their boxes out of the car window and drove off.
I suspect this was part of their reccy of where I live.
Subsequent to my burglary, I am always highly aware of any van or car (business logo or not) driving onto premises, and then driving straight out again.
Also shortly before this, I was talking to someone else, in LPT who had just had their car broken into, who mentioned also that a neighbour of theirs' and been burgled.
I get the feeling that the burglars return to areas (after a lengthy spell away) where they may have had prior success.
I just hope these scumbags get caught soon

Further attempted burglaries occurred late last night at around 1am. Garages were targeted in the LPG area and on the Sydenham Estate. Police and helicopter was out looking for four men in hoodies.

They used bolt cutters to cut off a few garage padlocks and got away with a number of stolen bikes. Please ensure you have a decent lock on your garage doors and be vigilant. If you see anyone acting suspicious call 999.
