Re: LEWISHAM COUNCIL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT DESPAIR
Hello and thanks, our nightmare pretty much continues but the story is long and quite possibly boring!! I shall however try and condense it and come back with an update shortly.

Re: LEWISHAM COUNCIL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT DESPAIR
Hi, JRW, despite sending several copies of the same PM the message service on these boards doesn't seem to work of rme. If you PM me your email I'll send the long diatribe I've composed.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: LEWISHAM COUNCIL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT DESPAIR
Hi all and once again thanks. Your help and kindness is a real boost. We've this week had a chartered structural engineer inspect and his report instructs that although the building is not yet unsafe, the cracks and downward movement of the central walls are caused by the excavation and said ...

Re: LEWISHAM COUNCIL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT DESPAIR
Once again, thanks so much for the responses, sympathy and advice. It’s a reassurance to know there are decent humans out there and such genuine goodwill on this Forum. You are all extremely kind. I will definitely contact Ellie reeves. I shall contact my credit card company as you say, nothing to l ...

Re: LEWISHAM COUNCIL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT DESPAIR
Hi Lord Summerisle, I was horrified to see your current living conditions, and.the way the shopowner is carrying on digging regardless of the law. Are the councillors being helpful? Ditto planning? Let us all know if you need help with anything, as we simply cannot allow this kind of thing to be ...

Re: LEWISHAM COUNCIL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT DESPAIR
A huge thanks for the replies here, it actually feels good just to air this and know we're not in an echo chamber here. Your advice is all positive and I've already written to the local councillor. As things stand it all feels very helpless and all the advice you've given sounds worthwhile.

LEWISHAM COUNCIL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT DESPAIR
Just wanted to share the experience my partner and I have had with Lewisham Council, their planning department and their abject failure to help and protect us over 5 years. I shall try and make this brief and write in the hope that others might be more prepared if ever dealing with them and also out ...

Re: Been to The Greyhound yet?
The outside is now open and to me looks really great in the sunshine. Overall however it's not my kind of place, the atmosphere isn't...well, there isn't any, the prices are very high and I like some others don't really like kids in pubs, reserved tables and an overwhelming emphasis on food. The ...

Re: Ignition Brewey needs our help!
Whilst this sounds like a really great initiative I second those who point out that it shouldn't be at the cost of other fantastic community projects such as the Pilates and Yoga classes. It's wonderful that a wider array of interests are getting covered in the local area but they should not be at ...

Re: Poodle club
If there was profit to be made on weekdays surely it would open weekdays too. Perhaps the failure of Beer Rebellion was due to not being able to make enough money during the week. The BR plan had been to continue as a non-profit making community concern because Matt owned the brewery. They had met ...

Re: Poodle club
So just to clarify, is the Poodle Club open other than the weekend as a bar? Whilst I support fully any local endeavour, if this s not the case then I feel it's extremely sad that we lost what was becoming a true community hub in the Beer Rebellion for something that's far from this. I (perhaps ...

Re: Save Beer Rebellion - we need your help!
Well I'm really sad to see the BR go as I think it was a truly wonderful community pub and it's a terrible shame it couldn't be sustained. However, if that's what it is then so be it. I shall get behind the comedy venue and it surely can only be a good thing for the area, something new, diverse and ...

Re: Save Beer Rebellion - we need your help!
Perhaps you're right, I hope so. I thought that all the requisite planning would already have been in place from the previous incumbents but perhaps not if they're making substantial change. You would think however they'd have done some comms. to both retain the clients from before and to get some ...

Re: Save Beer Rebellion - we need your help!
HI, has anyone heard anything further on this? If this couple did indeed table an offer that was accepted then they've taken months to do anything and it looks like it's not happening. We saw two folk, literally 3 or more months ago going in there with hideous looking fabrics and decorations who I ...

Re: The Journey Cafe
Looks beautifully decked out, really attractive both in and out but i'd have to agree I'd be immediately turned off by the dairy free & gluten stuff. I take no pleasure in that, it would just have me going somewhere else. It just conjures the whiff of the hemp sandal and and home made nettle wine ...

Hi, Does anyone have any information on the landlords of 3-5-7 Kent House Road? I have Investors ready to take it off their hands. Can someone please PM me if you have any information on the landlords. Thanks Solomon. Investors? Certainly not meaning to be rude but that term just seems so squalid ...

Re: 7 Kent House Road
HI, 5 Kent House I am unsure, there is a very elderly person / couple who live upstairs, they or their children (adult) may be able to help. 7 Kent House is under approval for a cafe but has been so forever so unsure what's happening there, 3 I don't know unfortunately.

Trattoria Raffaele; Let's hope prices stay the same
Nice recognition for a nice restaurant here. Following on from the Millennium Tandoori's high praise the other year I wonder whether the Standard has a Sydenham dweller working for them!! Either way, the food is lovely, I just hope this doesn't bring the prices up! http://www.standard.co.uk/news ...

Re: Beer rebellion
No, the outside area is directly beneath the living room of a family home and any noise would we heard directly in the living room. There is permission for a small beer garden out the back but only until 6 PM as this also directly adjoins a family garden. I do hope it still goes ahead but don't know ...

Re: Beer rebellion
The hearing was concluded on Tuesday evening. The planning was granted but with conditions regarding no outside seating so don't know whether they will go ahead or not.
