Mr Domestic Violence. Control freak. Abusive, manipulative, domineering bully.
I love the Archers, and I think this character is brilliant! Yes to even more of him, but definitely not a real man's man.
Come on Helen!

Re: Area information
I don't think the council flats are a problem, always seems fine and again I've used that bridge countless times. And yes there there's sometimes a car with kids smoking cannabis inside, by the bridge. But I'd investigate the brown flats by the junction of sydenham park/ sydenham park road, if you ...

Re: School advice - 2016 intake
There have been quite a few similar threads on this, so have a search on this forum for more info. St Barts, and this is a lovely school (my kids are there) with my youngest having just started. The open days will start soon, look around each, and go to the school Christmas fairs too, to get a good ...

Double glazing; recommendations?
It's time to replace our windows, front door and awful sliding patio porch door in our 1960's ex council house. I have an enormous quote from Crystal, who were recommended and I really don't want anything fancy. So please recommend an established glazing firm to me! Or PM ones to avoid?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Looking for after-school childcare from September
Hi
Is your child joining St Bart's (3.30 finish)?
Call the school to find out the names of the local childminders who collect from there.
I can think of Shirley and another woman, Elaine(?) who collect children from there, but don't know their surnames.
Good luck,
Kate

Looking for a hutch for guinea pigs
Hello
we are looking to get 2 guinea pigs for our kids, so if you have a hutch you no longer need, and it's in good condition, please PM me ASAP.
This is in the 'wanted' section too.
Thanks

Re: Plant Sale 23rd May
Just to add support to this as it's always a fantastic event for keen and wannabe gardeners (like me), for very good charities.
Lots of beautiful plants for the garden or allotment, lots of helpful advice (if you want it). V reasonable.
Cakes are v good too...bring bags for your garden goodies!

Try the Town Museum for threads about school pupils and a bit of history about the school too.
Hope you get some great feedback and stories!

Re: Sydenham Artisan Market - 2nd Saturday of the month
We wandered down again and I was disappointed by the stalls and the lack of atmosphere. I'm not sure the layout works on Venner Rd. It seemed so closed in, so as a customer, all stall holders eyes are 'trained' in on you as you make your way around this small circle of stalls. It's not a sociable ...

Re: Carlton Terrace to be demolished?
Thanks for this info. I feel sorry for those having to be evicted, they were such lovely homes, spacious, not the tiny boxes built nowadays.
I am hoping someone on Carlton Terrace will post here too.

Carlton Terrace to be demolished?
I understand that the maisonettes in Carlton Terrace (off Sydenham Park, by St Bart's School) are going to be demolished by London and Quadrant. Some flats are already vacant and bordered up, and I imagine many tenants have to be rehoused. Does anyone know anymore detail? I hear the plans include ...

Replacing garden fence; my responsibility or neighbour's?
A fence is falling down in my garden, but not sure if it is mine or my neighbour's (on the end of the terrace) responsibility to replace it. Am I right in thinking there is no law as to who owns the fence? You just agree together? We replaced the fence on the other side only recently, so would be ...

Like Lee, I also recommend IKEA for price, look and ease of buying things. They have a design consultation service where a planner/builder comes to you (there is an in-store one too), measures up, listens and asks questions about what you want, finds out about your budget. And i think it turned out ...

I find Joanne's constant rudeness and put downs infuriating. Please Joanne, stop the sniping, your posts, (which I used to find offered another differing view as well as a lively discussion), are losing (have lost?) credibility.
