Hi all,
We need an electric ventilation fan fitted in our bathroom, does anyone have any recommendations?
It might need to vent out through the roof.
Thanks

Last day of the Sydenham Arts Trail!
Today is the last day of the local artist trail. Good oppurtunity to meet some local artists, join in a workshop and discover some new places in Sydenham that you never knew were there. There is a wide variety on show - jewellery, ceramics, upholstery, installations, paintings and lots in between ...

The Capitol up for sale
Not strictly Se26, but close enough to be of interest. Could it become something other than a pub, maybe a cinema again? From Time Out

Westwood Hill road closed at Lawrie Park Avenue
Westwood Hill is closed just before the church (going up the hill) according to the BBC it is due to a fallen tree. I guess storm Imogen took its toll. Sounds like they are in the process of sawing it up.

Burns night events on Sunday?
Hi, does anyone know if any pubs or restuarants in the area are doing anything to celebrate Burns night on Sunday? I know it falls on a Monday this year, but was wondering if any place might be theming their Sunday lunch. I saw that the Woodhouse is doing something on the Monday.
Thanks

UPVC window repair?
Does anyone have any recommendations for a company that will do double glazing repairs? The gears have gone on a window lock, so it needs replacing. We've had a quote for £100, which is more than we thought it would be.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Christmas shopping - local ideas
A couple of years ago I decided to do my Christmas shopping locally. There was the excitement of the SEE3 pop-up shops and the December guide. It coincided too with the news that profitable companies, like Amazon, were avoiding paying tax, which in a recession, just seemed wrong. Being fairly new to ...

National Sports Centre - Crystal Palace Consultation
I know that Admin has posted this on the Town Hall, but seeing as this is related to the future of the sports centre in Crystal Palace, I thought it would be worth posting here. Consultation closes at the end of the month!

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
I have to disagree with a lot of the sentiments for significant sized developments on what are green sites within London; it is not just the green belt that needs protecting. One of the nice things, and more unusual aspects of Sydenham, is that it is a relatively green and leafy part of London - why ...

Re: when the train to Victoria is cancelled...
This post fits in nicely with some observations my sister shared when she came to stay. She lives out of town, and was discussing with a friend about Londoners and public transport. The first observation was that people in London are unwilling to wait more that 15mins. The second was that the are ...

Re: WANTED moving boxes
I think we have around 6 cardboard boxes decent sized boxes that we used for moving/ storage that we got from a removal company. They are in the loft at the moment, so not sure on exact size or number, but you are very welcome to them if you are still in need of some.

Re: Artists' Open House
We met Joyce Treasure, the Sydenham artist whose work is on the street hoardings in Kirkdale, in one of the houses in Court Lane where she was exhibiting. She was telling us that she has also contributed to the 'street art' house on Lordship Lane that's going to be demolished. Temporary art! Going ...

Artists' Open House
Although it is part of the Dulwich Festival, the Open House includes some in SE26, goes west to West Norwood and up to Peckham. I'd say there would be something for most people's taste. It is great to see so much talent locally and to get to speak to the people behind it. We did a fair bit of ...

Re: Nice place for a Sunday roast in or near Sydenham
We've been in Sydenham for a few months and trying out local Sunday lunches has been a mission. Agree with some of the suggestions above, especially Westow House in C.P, and Dartmouth Arms in F.H.. Sylvan Post has won on most generous serving - and quirkiness of decor. We'd also recommend White Hart ...
