Re: Wedding venues in /around Sydenham?
Before anyone else replies, I should point out that this thread is more than 5 years old. No idea why Eagle chose to resurrect it!

Re: Online petition to save the Windmill
It's rather concerning that in this and the other Windmill thread the following rule seems to apply: Anyone that disagrees with Mary's worldview = misinformed, misguided, lacking in humanity, spiteful and vilified. No wonder everyone who disagrees has quietly slipped away, unwilling to be berated ...

Another vote for Ecotricity. Exceptional service and they're now cheaper than the big six.

Re: The Haven & Rookstone redevelopment
I really don't understand this automatic rejection of housing developments. As a country we are simply not building enough houses - in London this problem is particularly acute. We are exacerbating a problem which may see our children completely unable to buy homes. Why can't we recognise the bigger ...

It's a civil matter. Police have no powers in the absence of a court order.

Re: Traffic in the High Road
There used to be two lanes on the kirkdale approach to cobbs corner roundabout. On the original plans there are also 2 lanes. However there is now only one. That has to have an impact.

Re: phpBB or not to be ... What is our Forum?
I agree. Better to keep open source, keep costs down and stay independent. In my experience, once a forum has to earn money from advertising, the whole atmosphere changes, as the owner feels they have to ban free "recommendations" for competitors of the forum's paying advertisers. If it ain't broke ...

I've always wondered exactly the same: why the professional and classy branding on the flyers isn't carried through to the restaurant. The website is pretty dire too! Great curry though.

Looks great, though I agree that a slightly lighter colour would be more enticing... there's a fine line between traditional and old-fashioned.

If by "register" you mean give your name and contact details, then that's not quite accurate. You can buy and use an unregistered oystercard for PAYG without ever giving your details.

Re: Cashless-only buses - TfL consultation
You'll need to take it into a ticket office at a station - I don't think the ones in newsagents can do it. I did it recently in Westminster tube and it took 3 minutes. Mary, that's the link for when you are charged incorrectly - for example when you don't touch out at the end of a journey - it is a ...

It would be an absolute travesty if Lee's tiles weren't used, given the time, effort and money he's put into them. I bet they look brilliant. I cringe every time I see a post on here saying it should be pulled down. It is imperative that we let the planning process take its course, while keeping the ...

You can get a refund for a card! You just take it to a ticket office and they give you back the £5 deposit and the balance. Simples.

Erm, it is merely Admin telling everyone that subjects related to benefits. foreigners etc. (as beloved by Eagle) have been moved to their own dedicated board to leave the pub free for other topics. Did you read the thread itself?
