Private Message

Hi Stuart Yep, I got the message this morning. I actually got quite excited :) (easily pleased) but then rather frustrated when there was nothing :? . Thank you for advising what had gone on as I would have been wondering about this for a while. Anyway it has stimulated me to look at the forum, for ...

Greyhound Pub

I haven't been on the site for a while due to other commitments. But this time instead of totally berating the Greyhound I am pleased to say I am, so far, impressed with the improvements. Husband and I went in on Saturday early evening for a drink and food. The staff were friendly and the food good ...

Beltwood

Thanks to Rebecca who has highlighted this venue that is right on our doorstep. Initially I felt the admission prices were quite high (but then perhaps I don't get out much either!) but after considering that there is nominal travelling - time and money, I feel pretty lucky to have such an important ...

Although not in Sydenham to best I can think of closer to home is Questions in Forest Hill, formerly The Malt Shovel. There is a development being built in Kirkdale which has pp for commercial on the ground floor and residential above. Would be a nice thought if something was to happen there.

Hello Global Thinker
Well, look around - it's not just in the High Street, it's anywhere where there is a shop throughout Lewisham. Have you read my post on the pink refuse sacks. Leaving the refuse out all night and day will attract vermin.

Pink Refuse Sacks

Can anyone tell me why it is better to have the pink refuse sacks that can be left for a couple of days on end on the pavement leaving the contents accessible to vermin rather that the albeit gross blue wheelie bins that at least contained its refuse. One explanation I was given by a road sweeper ...

Traffic Wardens

I am so very annoyed with the mindless distribution of parking tickets. The object is to allow easy vehicle thoroughfare, yet when an over zealous attendant slaps the ticket on the windscreen it allows you a further two hours to commit the sin!! Is it true that parking attendants get a bonus for ...

I used to live in E Dulwich and Somerfields was not really a consideration when shopping,it appeared dowdy and not fresh, but over the last few years it seems to have pulled it socks up, possibly trying to keep up with the pace the sole traders in Lordship Lane have set. So it would appear that ...

Hi Stuart
Didn't want to offend. I agree that it is important in the part it plays in the community but does it have to look so gross.

Your smelly site

Perhaps if you weren't so negative and added something constructive then you could give the site something eloquent! Far from being useless it has already created a stir for you, that is what forums are for. If you ask nicely you often succeed in getting what you want. What do you want? You have ...

Greyhound Pub

From the exterior this pub looks vile. Once inside, it's vile. It needs closing down and restyling. Forget the theme pub, it's vile. :x

shops

Over the last 10 years or so I have witnessed various shops appearing then disappearing in Sydenham. Since moving to Sydenham almost two years ago from E Dulwich I have been sadened to see the loss of good local businesses. Perhaps they are due to retirement, I don't know. But do they have to be ...

Zebra Crossing on Bridge

Reading the forum my mind goes toward the drivers using our roads. I watch daily at the speeds vehicles are doing. I was instructed when learning to drive that safety is the upmost and consideration of other vehicle users and pedestrians are of high matter. We all know that due to the upheaval of ...
