Here goes...

Anyone in public is fair game to a street photographer. Such is life in an open democracy.

She voiced no objection and I'm not out to stitch anyone up.

Street photography is all about making a visual record of the era in which we live. Unposed, factual recordings of life on the streets is what it's all about. Should someone in a hundred years from now happen on the above picture they'll get a sense of Sydenham in 2009.

If any of the images I post cause offense then that's too bad. It's not my intention.

Paulyman.

Did she know you were going to place it on a public board though?

I understand what you are saying paul, but I personally would not like to be displayed on a board like this. Its different from behind or obscured in some way, but i feel she was too busy concentrating on what she wanted to be aware of you, its a bit like the Google map and some people objecting to being shown on it.

If the admin decides to censor this image then so be it. It stays on the blog. It's just a photograph. It'll do no harm to anyone. Get over it. It's an image of a human being on a street. Period. I make no apologies. I don't have to.

:?

No need to be so aggressive Paul,
Its just an observation that i have made which i personally would not like done to me.

I have not asked you to appologise/nor would I

I understand that you are a photographer, and have enjoyed your photos in the past, but just feel this is an invasion of someones privacy.

You take it as you like i'm not fussed.

I didn't mean to be aggressive. I'm sorry about that. Just explaining my motivations. Privacy is overrated. There is no such thing as privacy in public. How can there be?

You can have privacy in your own home and that's about it. It's a fact of life.

I need to make dinner now. Back later.

Paul is correct, and it would be a worrying world if he wasn't correct. Someone "not liking" something isn't grounds not to do it or for it to be restricted...

that's a restriction isn't it?

You don't own "image rights" or the like to yourself in this context

I think its a thin line between restriction and cival rights to privacy myself,
and personally i would not want to be photographed and put on a forum such as this.
