Re: Begging in Sydenham Road
Don't think it's begging in a legal sense (correct me if I'm wrong)! As far as the approach goes, this can vary as a guy standing outside a station shouting out 'Big Issue' is no different to shouting out 'Evening Standard' is it? Some that I've walked past are just trying to sell like any other pa...

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
I'm sure the actual buildings in many parts are an extra storey over what is depicted in those mockups. It would be most unlikely that a developer would arbitrarily add a floor without planning consent and if they did they would be obliged to remove it. Will the upstairs be turned into flats? The p...

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
I still have a problem with the fact that Antic were not aware of the pub size before saying they were going to take it on. Also, I have sent an E.mail to Wetherspoons suggesting they take it over-unlikely but worth a try. Annie, Antic were not honest, they stated openly that they " still owne...

. Within the report you'll receive the efficiency of your house (as in an Energy Performance Certificate), measures you can take to improve the efficiency (including the cost/benefits) and direction to the various funding, grants and freebies available. It would be interesting to know how " ef...

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
Can someone please explain how "A1 and A2 business could in fact go into the Greyhound building" when the Mayor specifically used his powers to declare the site, and more of the high street, a conservation area so that wouldn't happen? Simon , the Conservation area protected the building ...

Re: Antic pubs have withdrawn from the Greyhound
So where Antic are quoted as saying this on a previous thread on the subject:- It's all good...I received this from Fi at Antic when I chased her... Apologies, I thought I had replied to this, I have had a few enquiries about the pub. All I can tell you is that we currently still own the pub and the...

I think the stone Greyhounds went in the early to mid 90's when the pub was refurbished and the orignal ornate bar also disapeared.

Re: Knife crime in Sydenham
Just a couple of observations on this. I moved from the South Coast to Sydenham in 1990. One of the things that stuck in my mind is that I actually felt safer walking at night in Sydenham than I did on the Coast. I have tried to explain why to freinds before but dont really have an explanation, its ...
