Frustrated your bus stop doesn't have a departures board?
If you have a smartphone help is at hand. Just point your browser at http://m.tfl.gov.uk and select the new bus time facility. You can then select which of the local bus stops you want and it will display time to the next departures in real time.
Beware of Apps claiming to do this. They are scraping the same information and charging you for the App or wasting space with ads.
Best if you have a tariff that includes some data but this uses very little. Enjoy!

I used this the other day - very useful and accurate.
tfl have improved their mobile website so it is simple and quick. I agree - no need to pay for an app.

It'll be particularly helpful as my local bus route has been hit by the double whammy of TFL sticking notices over the timetables asking that we contact them if a timetable isn't displayed (duh?) and TFL changing their telephone number from an 0207 (included in most mobile phone packages) to an 0845 number (which is most decidedly not)!

Personally I paid a pound or two for the buschecker app and I don't regret it - even though it is the same info it's so user-friendly that I think it was worth paying for.
Whether you pay for an app or use the TfL site, it's fab to have the information on your phone -I've certainly saved hours of my life that would have been spent waiting at bus-stops - check before you leave home and you can time your departure accordingly. Brilliant!
