On your bike
Lewisham Council and British Cycling are working together to organise a series of bike rides under the banner, Sky Ride Local. The programme starts this Sunday 7 August and all rides are led by a British Cycling trained ride leader.
Rides organised in Lewisham include:
Forster Memorial Family Park Ride
Sunday 7 August, 2pm
Sunday 2 October, 2pm
This is a lovely easy ride round Forster Memorial Park in Whitefoot. The park's central grassland area is surrounded by a ring of ancient woodland and the route alternates between circuits of the open area with a lap in the woods. Perfect for families and riders of all abilities.
Greenwich and Blackheath
Sunday 7 August, 10am
Sunday 9 October, 10am
This is a great circular route from Catford down to historic Greenwich and back. On the way you will pass through Blackheath and drop through gorgeous Greenwich Park, past the Royal Observatory and the Cutty Sark taking in the views across the river to Canary Wharf and the Olympic Park. It’s then a level ride back to Catford along the Ravensbourne River.

Re: On your bike - starting this weekend from Whitefoot Lane
As a new comer to cycling I think I'll give the October ones a whirl, unfortunately I'm away this weekend.
