The 10th Penge Beckenham Scout Group is organising its first Arts & Crafts Fare this year which takes place on Saturday 4th December at Holy Trinity Church, Lennard Road, SE20 7LX between 11am and 4pm.
As well as a range of stalls offering quality hand made goods ranging from handmade chocolates and preserves to leather goods, clever ways with recycled items, cards, textiles and jewellery we will also have a Kids Corner full of fun actvities for children including Face Painting, Cupcake Decorating and "Make a Gift for your Parents". We will also have a cafe with tasty homemade treats and a selection of quality teas and coffee on offer. Entry is free and it will be an ideal opportunity to find some unique and special Christmas presents.
We have a few stalls left for local Crafters, Artists and Designer/Makers. For more information on how to book a stall please contact Alahree McDonell-Reid at alahree@aol.com. I am sorry but we cannot accept any more jewellery or card stalls as these are now fully subscribed.
Proceeds will go towards the 10th Penge & Beckenham Scout Group Jamboree fund. Two of our Scouts have been selected to represent Greater London South East at the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden 2011. The event, which takes place every four years, brings together over 30,000 Scouts from almost every country in the world. Much of the money that we raise will be helping to pay for Scouts from parts of the world less fortunate than the UK as well as funding our own Scouts' participation in this amazing worldwide event. The 2011 Jamboree will be promoting world togetherness and the environment and Scouts will be working on an environmental project when they are at the Jamboree. The rest of the money that we raise will help the whole group with new projects and essential equipment. The 10th Penge & Beckenham Scout Group is based at Holy Trinity Church in Sydenham and consists of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from age 5-14.

The response so far has been excellent but we are going to need more tables for stallholders. Is there an organisation nearby that could lend us approx 15 6'x2' trestle tables for the day? preferably from the evning before. And if its not too cheeky to ask are you able to drop them round? (not essential but would be an enormous help).

Very exciting news. The Mayor of Bromley has agreed to open the event. He will be along at 11am.

Oh dear, that means it'll clash with the one at St. John's in Penge. Still, they're close enough that people could go to both, I suppose.

I didn't want to start a new thread, since it's not really Sydenham at all, but the arts and crafts fair at St. John's Penge just before Christmas was so successful that they're repeating it for Easter. I think it's on April 9th.
