Browsing messages/topics for the last twelve months
It may be that I'm doing something wrong, but as far as I can see, the facility that allows you to view all messages left for up to the last year is not working. I've tried it but nothing happens. Could the Administrator advise whether it simply doesn't work or whether there is something I am missing?
Cyd - the search system on this software (phpbb version 2) is not the best. Indeed it seems to be a problem that effects other forum software too. Some forum admins recommend you use Google!
Very shortly this forum is going to be upgraded to phpbb version 3 which is a complete rewrite. The search mechanism is supposed to be better. We will see.
The only thing holding us back is that over the years we have built in an array of stuff to stop spambots posting ads all over the place. We still get the occasional one (see the lead post in Town Asylum) but when I upgraded another forum we had eight spammers posting all over the shop in the first two hours.
We are working on that forum to get it down to a tolerable level and then we will upgrade here.
