I have found a seach engine which maybe of interest, it allows you to find webpages that are physically near to you and allows you to submit sites yourself.
It's call a2b.cc and even allows you to find websites near a given site for example
http://a2b.cc/search-url.a2b?url=http%3 ... ham.org.uk
Thought it maybe of interest as local websites don't get much of a look-in on most search engines!
Local search engine
This works for Sydenham Town because we have an ICBM Geo Tag on our mainpage which is visible to search engines (but not casual readers).back_ache wrote:I have found a seach engine which maybe of interest, it allows you to find webpages that are physically near to you and allows you to submit sites yourself.

If you run a website and want to be located geographically you should add a similar <META> tag to your site.
Search for 'ICBM tag' or similar on Google for more info.
It's great you have an ICBM tag, you need to remove the space after the comma seperating the lattitude and longditude for it to work reliably, also to be completly covered it would be worth also having a geo.position tag.
One thing about a2b, which in some ways is a good thing, is it dosn't seem to "crawl" the web, it only has manually inputed websites though wether they change that in future is anyones guess!
I inputed sydenham town on a2b as I think this is a great little site!
