FREE FON WiFi Access Point

Post by admin »

If you are quick you can get a FREE FON WiFi Access Point (normally e29.99) by PMing me.

If you are a home user this will enable you to get free WiFi access at thousands of access points worldwide and at least two in Sydenham. In return you provide WiFi access to visiting FONEROs and help build a sharing community.

If you are a business you can offer cheap WiFi access on or around your premises in return for 50% of the income (or give it away free to get more customers for your own products).

You also get a seperate and secure private WiFi network so no need to spend £40 or more at PCWorld.

You will need to have a broadband connection and a router (not the USB modem given away free by some ISPs). Contact me if you are not sure.

PS Some ISP T&C's forbid sharing of your net interconnection (which is a bit like saying no one but the bill payer can use your phone). Up to you whether you ignore this or move to a better ISP.

BTW There is nothing in it for me. More details of FON here:

FON is backed by Google & Skype

UPDATE

No need to PM atm. Anybody in the UK can get a free one. Go here:

Remember you must have a broadband connected router, not just a simple PC powered USB modem. If you are unsure just post the model number here and I can check it out for you.

You will also need a WiFi enabled PC or notebook to enable the Fonera. If you don't I can pop round and do it for you. That's it - there's no cost. If you are a cafe/restuarant/pub it could even generate income.
