Do you know how to keep accounts? Would you be available for a couple of hours a month? The Sydenham & Forest Hill Youth Forum are looking for a replacement treasurer as the wonderful Tim Lund accidently agreed to it last year. In that time, he has smartened our accounts up, spic and span, leaving the new kid on the block an easy ride.
We're based at 17 Sydenham Road, c/o Here For Good (though SFHYF is a distinct registered charity).
Our main role is to network agencies who work with youth, running forum meetings. We also run youth groups, who have the principle task of getting locals to sign up to our £2 per month scheme (currently bringing in a whopping £19pcm). This is our fundraising strategy for anyone who wants to see where their donations are going and see them reinvested locally. We have an online map where we will advertise our progress alongside other opportunities, silencing the words 'nothing to do'.
We are small, have one part-time staff member (me) on payroll sourced-out to VAL and turn over between £10-£15k per year. It's an easy role for anyone excel savvy or who owns a little common sense and a brain that doesn't frazzle when it sees digits. You would be asked to keep the accounts up-to-date by inputting expenditure and sign a few cheques everymonth to pay HMRC and my good self. You would begin after being voted in at our AGM on the 16th September.
