Sydenham Assembly - 7pm this Thursday 3 March

Post by Chris Best »

Hopefully everyone living in Sydenham Ward received the leaflet last week inviting them to the next Assembly meeting on Thursday evening - 7pm at the Grove Centre in Jews Walk, near the junction with Kirkdale.

There will be feedback on the budget decisions taken by the Council on the 1 March. As many of you know the Council had been working on reducing its budget by £60 million over the next three years but the Coalition Government financial settlement has resulted in savings of £88 million over the coming four years – a massive 26% cut. Next year alone we are facing a reduction of £33 million.

The discussion will be on local developments such as the Greyhound and Bell Green and the latest from Lewisham Homes.

Please come along to catch up on the plans and timetable for the high street and Station Approach.

There will be details about the Assembly Fund for 2011/11 and an open session for information, questions and answers including the latest on Sydenham Music and Arts Festivals. It would be great to see you and I will ensure that we finish promptly at 9pm.
