Off-topic: 2nd Train Station in Grove Park c1908?

This topic has nothing to do with Sydenham, although Grove Park is still in the Lewisham borough...
Following my discussion with RebelMC and Steve Grindlay on our recent walkabout tour, please find below the Homecheck map relating to the local history of my current house; I received an entire booklet about the environment. There are other maps, too, about radiation levels and stuff, but this map specifically refers to local railways.. Unless I'm going mad, it appears as though there could have once been a 2nd train station on Le May Avenue!? Could this be some kind of error? Anyone able to make sense of this map and perhaps shed some light on the mystery? I believe an OS map has been used for reference in plotting the lines and squares on a modern day map. One of the railway lines appears to end at the church across the road from me, and if true, would have run over the site of the vicarage; local vicar Gavin is also waiting for an answer!

falkor,i have just asked my dad and he said that the original station may have been moved to where the present one now is,apparently this was something that used to be done quite a lot,the original hither green station was the other side of st mildreds road until it was moved to its current location.

btw....whats homecheck?

my dad also says the place that you might find out the definative answer to your question would be the railwaymans club,which is in beacon road in hither green.

A friend of mine lives in Grove Park from work and seemingly knows of these things so I'll ask him. Unless I'm mistaken Leaf a Homecheck is a survey on a property? Hope you're feeling better Leaf.

That present station has always been there, long before 1908, and there's always postcards on Ebay.

Yeah, I bet everyone must get them when moving into a new property... I wonder if they would know about the generating station in Springfield Road, sydenham, if I moved back there.

As RebelMC suggested on the walk, it could just be a temporary railway line and station for workmen at a power station. On the map is "PW", which could indicate such a station, although the church was built in the 1890s on the same spot.

The booking hall of Catford Station was moved (and Catford Bridge), my previous residential area, but the Grove Park station and booking hall have always been in the same place AFAIK... The date period of the Le May Avenue station, going by the map, is 1908-1908 (less than a year). I doubt Grove Park station would have moved to a temporary location. It's all very intrigueing, to me anyway...
