Free Trees

Post by SydenhamHillAndy »

While chasing up the local Tree Team at Southwark Council (three weeks with no response) I came across this little gem.

Yes, you can seriously get free trees paid for by my council tax.

Appreciate I'm in danger of ranting but I find it astonishing that council tax goes on this sort of thing. I looked on Crocus.com and some of these free trees retail for upwards of £40 at this size.

I looked to see if Lewisham offer anything similar but they don't. Looks like your council are less crazy than mine......

"The trees and shrubs are available as young, bare-rooted plants roughly one metre tall. They will need to be planted at once."

These could be one year old Sycamore trees that grow like weeds anyway...
