Today I deleted spamming threads complete with huge images of their goods from a Chinese company (now banned).
How I hate these guys who would want to destroy a community forum in order to make a cheap buck. If they sell that way then one can presume their products may be as dodgy...
Removed a very weird posting from Town Cafe this morning. This is a spam being posted to Forums all over the world. Goodness knows what the intention or mindset of the poster is. If you really need to know you can find identical postings by Googling "hacked satellites spain".
As a follow-up poster commented "get your tin foil helmets ready ..."
But do feel free (without repeating any of the deleted post) to comment on the motive behind it. Sure beats me!
A post advertising private tuition removed from Town Cafe. The guidelines specifically prohibit advertising except through the (discrete) GoogleAds.
Can people also note that they also exclude posting email addresses. This is to protect the addressee from spambots which trawl the net looking for email addresses. Private Messaging (PM) is the preferred method of communicating via the Forum.
I have removed two postings by the same author. One appeared to make an unacceptable racist slur and the other was, in my view, seeking to incite hatred.
I would like to think that they were done at a time when the poster was, perhaps, too tired and emotional.
A local property ad was removed from Town Cafe this morning made by a new poster who probably did not realise the 'no ads' rule in posts. Advertisers can help support this community project by placing ads through Google. Click on the 'advertise on this site' link on any GoogleAd for more.
