Getting the most out of maps
Just to let everyone on Sydenham Town know that the British Library is holding a series of workshops in February on maps, and how to use them in research. The workshops are part of their programme supporting the exhibition entitled London: a Life in Maps, which runs until March 4. Each workshop focuses on a particular London borough and includes a guided tour of the exhibition. Dates are as follows: Camden/Haringey Feb 5; Kensington and Chelsea Feb 12; Lewisham Feb 17; Newham & Tower Hamlets Feb 27. All 2-4.30 pm. The workshops will be led by Peter Barber, Head of the Map Collection at the British Library and the exhibition's curator. Places are limited to 30 per workshop; admission is free, but you need to book in advance by phoning the British Library Box Office on 020 7412 7222.
