I was born in 1938, in Longton Grove, bombed out from there and moved to Beckenham Rd, for the war years.
So many memories to relate if anyone is interested... Back to Sydenham and St Micheals school at age eleven.Dont want to bore anyone but suddenly can remember so much since finding this site.
Wont go on now, but if anyone knows me, or remembers my name that would be great.
Pat Duckworth.

Hi Pat,
I didn't move to that area until the early nineties so much altered by then. I found this photo of Cobbs corner from a few years before you were born - what a difference to today!

Hi Pat
Yes Cobb's was a great store. Standards were high and the staff knew how to treat the customers.
Especially liked their pneumatic system for payment.
Lovely restuarant , the cream of Sydenham society.
Now seems to be a nightclub called something like Tanzania . Walter would turn in his grave.
