I'm having a brain function problem with using my computer & need some advice please. haven't used Google Street View for a while now. I used to access it no problem at all, but can't seem to now. Is it no longer a free service?

Hi Mary,

No, it's still a free service whether you have an account or not. I've just used it without signing in:

Go to www.google.co.uk (or com works too),
Click "maps" on the menu bar
Type in a place or postcode in the search bar and click "search"
When you've found what you're looking for, you then drag the little orange man on the left to the position you want to view.
From here you can move his viewing direction, zoom in/out and move him along the road.

BTW, you can even take the little orange man into Abbottabad!
Some bits look quite nice!

Thanks mummycat - that worked and I found what I was looking for.

I had a look round Abbotabad too. You're right, it does look nice. Wonder what's Bin Laden's post code was and what his Council tax was like?

It would be great to analyse the local crime maps, house prices and school league tables, wouldn't it?

I'm not convinced that OBL had no internet access. We get a lot of Pakistani IPs showing up on STF and one major poster has just gone silent. Very worrying ...
