Old Prince Alfred ?
Old Prince Alfred ?
Work has now started on the old Prince Alfred, what is it going to be?
Re: Old Prince Alfred ?
Anyone know if change of use has been applied for?
Re: Old Prince Alfred ?
Nothings been posted. It looks like they aren't removing the bar which is good news. So it may be a pub again.
Re: Old Prince Alfred ?
Looks like it is still owned by Punch Taverns.
According to the builders it will still be a pub and should be open soon after a refit. Worthy og an STF when it opens? Hopefully this time I can make it.

Re: Old Prince Alfred ?
I wonder how their going to make any money? To open a pub these days is madness, they'll have to offer something different, I hope they succeeed.

Any news on when it going to re-open?
Re: Old Prince Alfred ?
If it is still owned by Punch, it will be hard for the landlord to make any money. I read at the weekend that each pub in the Punch estate needs to make £37,000 pa just to pay the interest on Punch's huge debt.
Re: Old Prince Alfred ?
The refurbished Prince Alfred reopens tomorrow night at 7.00 pm. There is live entertainment, apparently
It looks quite nice inside; they've given it a thourough clean out, a paint job and some new furniture but it looks like the idea is keep it as what it was; a local pub, which is a good thing in my opinion.
