Work has now started on the old Prince Alfred, what is it going to be?

Nothings been posted. It looks like they aren't removing the bar which is good news. So it may be a pub again.

Looks like it is still owned by Punch Taverns.
According to the builders it will still be a pub and should be open soon after a refit. Worthy og an STF when it opens? Hopefully this time I can make it.

I wonder how their going to make any money? To open a pub these days is madness, they'll have to offer something different, I hope they succeeed.

If it is still owned by Punch, it will be hard for the landlord to make any money. I read at the weekend that each pub in the Punch estate needs to make £37,000 pa just to pay the interest on Punch's huge debt.

The refurbished Prince Alfred reopens tomorrow night at 7.00 pm. :D There is live entertainment, apparently :|
It looks quite nice inside; they've given it a thourough clean out, a paint job and some new furniture but it looks like the idea is keep it as what it was; a local pub, which is a good thing in my opinion.
