94 SYDENHAM ROAD SHOE SHOP IMAGE URGENT REQUEST!

Post by leenewham »

Does anyone have any images of this BEFORE it had the plastic illuminated sign?

At the top it has a flat granite section (like most of the shops) but I need to know what is behind the sign and how far down the granite goes.

It's quite urgent as it will affect the design of the new fishmongers that will open soon.

Exciting announcements ahead!

I think quite a while ago this was Dewhirst butchers but dont know whats behind the plastic.Maybe its like the old Sainsbury frontage which appeared above the pound shop when the sign blew down.

Yes, I'm hoping it is, but as nearly all the shopfronts have been replaced and the interior ceilings of the shops lowered over the years, it's difficult to know if there is a gap/blank wood space filler between the frontage and the stone facia above.

I'm puzzled as to why lots of these shops seems to have this stone part in the first place. It wasn't there originally. Or did Sainsbury's take over a few units in the high street?

No Sainsbury only had one shop in the high street. But maybe then the high street was colour coordinated, not a mish mash.
