The Sydenham Society have arranged for a talk by local historian Steve Grindlay - I hope he won't mind me giving this a quick plug here. I gather that this is largely similar to that given at last year's arts festival, so if you couldn't make it then, well worth coming along if you have an interest in local history. Details below:
* Sydenham Society talk * Local Artists and Musicians
Tuesday 9 March, 7.45pm, The Golden Lion, Sydenham Road; admission £2
Over the centuries many artists and musicians have made their home in Sydenham - and judging from the number of people on the trains carrying musical instruments the tradition continues! Local historian Steve Grindlay gives a talk on just some of those who have made this corner of south-east London their home. Definitely an event not to be missed!
